If you have an emergency during office hours, please call Emily at 814-833-3703.
If you have an emergency during non-office hours, please text Dr. Cardot at
814-450-5881 with the patient’s name and if possible, photos of the problem.
The initial 30-minute complimentary exam allows Dr. Cardot to determine the orthodontic problem, the best treatment option, how much it will cost, and when treatment should be initiated. Following an in-office evaluation, if treatment is necessary, we can take x-rays, photos, and an intraoral scan (replaces putty impressions!) at the same visit to save you time.
All questions are answered at the first visit, such as:
You do not need a referral from your dentist to see an orthodontist. When calling to schedule, please provide Emily with your dental insurance information so that she can inform you of your orthodontic benefit and your out-of-pocket costs. It is also helpful to fill out our secure patient information forms so that Emily has them ready for your appointment.
After the records appointment, Dr. Cardot does an evaluation of the materials and discusses your individual treatment plan with you. Appointments are then scheduled for Dr. Cardot to start your treatment. Patients are seen and treated by Dr. Cardot at every appointment, usually every 4-6 weeks. Time is reserved specifically for each patient, so keeping monthly appointments is crucial to the progress of treatment. Please arrive on time for appointments. If you are more than 15 minutes late, you may be asked to reschedule. We request and appreciate at least a 24-hour notice to cancel an appointment.
